JotForm Rolls Out Feedback Software

The Following is part of a series of business profiles selected by LLC.NET.

Before the Internet, a customer could jot down her concerns, praise or advice on a piece of paper and slip it into a company’s suggestion box. JotForm puts a digital twist on this old school idea with Wishbox, a versatile feedback application.

Wishbox, which JotForm launched Nov. 22, 2011, improves communication between website owners, designers and visitors. It lets users take screenshots so they can highlight a specific website element, whether they love it, hate it or just think it needs a little tweak.

While it may not sound like much, taking a screenshot prevents users from wasting valuable time trying to describe exactly what section or element of the webpage they’re focusing on.

JotForm’s website bills the company as the “first web-based WYSIWYG form builder.” Basically, JotForm offers a user-friendly way to add forms — such as surveys, job applications and contact boxes — to a website without previous knowledge of HTML code. JotForm provides a drag-and-drop user interface that shows the forms exactly as they’ll appear once they go live on the website.

Wishbox offers similar user-friendly tools. For instance, the application provides a “Feedback” button a designer can customize before adding it to a website. Visitors to the site just click on the button, take screenshots and add their comments. While this isn’t new territory — other applications provide screenshot capabilities — Wishbox offers tools that let users crop the screenshots and add arrows to highlight specific issues, in addition to providing a spot for descriptive text. Not only does the application provide a sender with a quicker way to comment, it also saves the recipient time — he won’t have to read the whole webpage trying to decipher the sender’s notes.

After a user finishes with his annotations, he clicks a button to submit the information and a webpage pops up with a form. As an added bonus of using JotForm’s feedback application, Wishbox users can design this form to suit their needs. The feedback application will forward the details to the website owner’s chosen email account. Wishbox also lets an owner reply to email notifications so she can directly address comments from each individual who takes the time to send her praise or constructive criticism.

While visitors’ comments will help a website improve its Internet presence, as well as its credibility, Wishbox likely will provide web designers and their clients with the most benefits.

The Wishbox application helps designers and business owners easily discuss the pros and cons of new website layouts, even if they’re thousands of miles away from each other. By combining the screenshots with attached annotations, Wishbox eliminates the need for tedious, long-winded notes — the application lets users show instead of tell. This method reduces the chances of misunderstandings, as well as the requests for clarification.

As of Nov. 25, 2011, JotForm offers three monthly Wishbox subscription plans. The free Basic tier provides as many as 100 monthly notifications, the $9.95 Premium tier allows 1,000 monthly notifications and the $49.95 Professional tier provides 1 million monthly notifications.
